Confirmation Class
Note Well: Confirmation Class is not a class commanded by the Lord in his word, but it is an excellent tool that our congregation offers to our families for the purpose of our young people to get to know the "basic" doctrines of the Word (The Word, the Commandments, The Creed, The Sacraments, The Ministry of the Keys, and Prayer).
If you are interested in Confirmation Class, please, talk to Pastor Hansen. Visit with him, call or email. He is happy to listen, help and visit with you about this important part of our personal Christian Education.
- Confirmation Class exists to assist our parents to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
- Generally, our students are enrolled and begin Confirmation Class when they enter the 6th grade.
- Classes are held on Wednesdays, after school, beginning at 4pm and concluding by later than 5:20pm.
- Over three school years, our catechumens grow in their faith through a systematic curriculum of learning of God's truths from Scripture with the help of Luther's Small Catechism.
- After their third year and satisfactorily finishing their studies, catechumens are "confirmed in the faith" and, on Confirmation Sunday, make their vows of lifelong faithfulness to their Lord.
- Following their confirmation, the confirmand is welcomed into our congregation as a confirmed member and welcome to come to the Lord's Supper/Communion whenever it is offered.
